Aleksandra Skórzak

Promotional Activities Manager – PRZEKRÓJ Foundation
Aleksandra prefers unexpected choices and long distances, especially when hiking or cycling. A Żywiec Highlander by origin, she is a graduate of Polish Studies from the Jagiellonian University. Aleksandra created a project designed to promote Polish dialects – she believes spoken stories need to be preserved and archived. Whenever she can, she takes her two canine companions, Wiosna and Lolek, for trips and travels. They visit people and places; explore castles, small music festivals, woods, meadows, and mountain shelters. Since childhood, her two favourite pastimes have been reading and organizing (both passions inherited from her mother and grandfather). Aleksandra first tried to put those interests to use at seven years of age, when she started a village reading club, located at the back of a barn, and soon after in Uncle Marian’s attic. Next, she founded a village theatre that required her father to make a hole in their fence. Aleksandra was also editor-in-chief of her own newspaper. For the past 10 years (21, if you count from the very beginning) she’s been organizing a one-of-a-kind annual Flying Kite Festival in Ostry with her mother and sister. The event attracts friends from all over the globe. So it shouldn’t come as a surprise that her job at “Przekrój” revolves around organizing various projects and other activities.
