Marta Konarzewska

Graphic Designer

What fascinates her most is the element of surprise, when beauty appears unexpectedly in seemingly mundane objects. When it comes to design, she worships imperfection—she believes it can enliven and give character to any composition. Just like a favorite cup—it has to be porcelain, but also chipped. The exception is working with letters—written words must be flawless. She knows this, because she reads all the time.

Ever since she was eight, Marta wanted to be a graphic designer. In line with her plan, she has spent most of her life working at home surrounded by hundreds of pencils, paints, and scraps of paper. An empty white desk in Przekrój’s editorial office turned out to be a refreshing change of scenery.

When not at Przekrój, she designs book covers for Filtry publishing house, visuals for the wine-focused magazine Ferment, sets Przekrój’s crosswords puzzles as part of the Kaliber 45 collective, and above all—raises her two children.
