Janina Ipohorska

At Przekrój she took care of almost everything, including editing articles, inventing different columns, translating, shortening short stories, creating numerous events, answering letters and illustrating. She went down in history as the author of the inestimable school of decency and good manners, the Democratic savoir-vivre column—a warm, humorous, and unpretentious manual for how to behave in doubtful circumstances. She wrote it under the pseudonym Jan Kamyczek starting in 1947.
